Benning, GA and Ft. Jackson, SC, Barbie and her son, Ward, moved back to Rye, when her husband was deployed to Vietnam. Three children and a lot of years fulfilling community commitments, Barbie decided to retire from being a "professional" volunteer and pursue a career in real estate, an industry which has rewarded her with great success. "When time permits, my past times are always exercise orientated from swimming to paddle tennis.....and I am always in the crowd cheering on family participants at sporting events. Before my professional career was launched in 1985, I was best described as a 'professional' volunteer. As I was raising my three children, and focusing on their needs, I did what I could to give back to the community, a very rewarding experience.
